Truth and Consequence in the Face of Abuse

It's Time for the Truth — And I Will Not Be Silent Anymore
I am done pretending.
Done shrinking.
Done being “nice” so other people can remain comfortable in a lie.
I am not afraid of the consequences of telling the truth—
because the consequences of silence nearly erased me.
Women who have been harmed are forced to live a performance long after the damage is done. We are trained to carry guilt that is not ours. To interrogate our reactions instead of the cruelty that provoked them. To manage our tone, our expression, our delivery—while the person responsible walks free, unexamined, untouched.
Let me say this without apology:
The problem has never been us.
The problem is that nothing happened to the person who caused it.
We are not crazy.
We are not unstable.
We are not “too emotional.”
We are women whose nervous systems were hijacked by fear, manipulation, and psychological warfare—and then blamed for the aftermath.
For years, we are conditioned to believe:
If we had explained ourselves better, it wouldn’t have happened
If we were calmer, it wouldn’t have escalated
If we were stronger, we wouldn’t still feel the impact
This is not truth.
This is programming.
And when a woman finally stops carrying that lie—when she speaks with precision instead of fear—she is labeled dangerous.
Not because she is.
But because truth threatens systems built on silence, compliance, and misplaced compassion.
Let’s name the real insanity.
Women who were harmed are expected to:
Heal alone
Forgive on command
Stay quiet to “move forward”
Extend grace to the very person who dismantled them
While the one responsible faces little to no consequence—socially, legally, or morally.
We are told to be compassionate toward those who hurt us, while no one demanded compassion for us when we were breaking.
We are told to let it go, as if justice is optional.
As if accountability is cruelty.
As if silence is peace.
It isn’t.
It’s erasure.
Wanting accountability is not vengeance.
It is sanity.
What people call “emotion” is often the moment clarity arrives.
It is the body saying, I will not absorb this anymore.
It is the soul refusing to carry shame that never belonged to it.
I am not afraid to say this:
Someone should be held responsible.
Not because I want revenge—but because harm without consequence multiplies. Because unchecked perpetrators do not stop—they move on. Because silence has never protected anyone except the person who caused the damage.
I am speaking for countless women who were:
Gaslit into doubting reality
Shamed for responding to harm
Punished for telling the truth
Labeled unstable for refusing to stay quiet
Women who were expected to be “the bigger person” while being psychologically dismantled.
This is no longer about being polite.
This is about truth.
This is about justice.
This is about refusing to live a half-life so others never have to confront reality.
You cannot be kind if kindness requires self-betrayal.
You cannot be compassionate if compassion only flows toward the perpetrator.
You cannot heal in a world that refuses to name what happened.
So here it is—unfiltered and undeniable:
What was done to us was real.
We did not cause it.
We are not unstable for demanding accountability.
And we are done protecting the people who caused the damage.
This is not hysteria.
This is not bitterness.
This is a reckoning.
And it is long overdue.
